Campaign Manager (Oakland, CA) – Barbara Lee for Congress

Supervisory: The campaign manager reports to the Congresswoman and chief of staff and works in close collaboration with the finance team, the advisory committee and finance committee. The campaign manager oversees interns, volunteers, and in some instances other paid campaign staff.


Develops strategic political outreach and engagement strategy for member of Congress;

Implements strategic engagement, communications and campaign plan for 2020 cycle;

Runs field operation and campaign program, in consultation with consultant; 

Serves as primary political representative with state and local elected officials, stakeholders, community leaders, political clubs, and CA Democratic Party;

Recommends and staffs political call time, meetings and events and works with scheduler to secure time; 

Creates, organizes and maintains stakeholder and other lists as necessary;

Develops and maintains a campaign volunteer and internship program;

Writes remarks and briefings for political events; 

Makes political travel arrangements for member as necessary;

Manages the administration of the campaign office, including mail, phones, systems, lease, parking, and staff of volunteers;

Works with Chief of Staff and member to manage consultants and vendors;

Works with internet and finance consultants to develop and deploy coordinated outreach message materials, including but not limited to email, mail, and campaign literature; 

Coordinates and manages campaign program (including field) for primary and general election;

Organizes Advisory Committee work and meetings and serves as primary point of contact for the committee - including but not limited to coordinating endorsement meetings, providing research and background on upcoming races, and reporting recommendations from the committee to the Congresswoman

Coordinates with Finance Assistant/ Director to advance finance and political goals;  

Assists with filing candidate paperwork and materials; 

Provides weekly reports and participates in weekly campaign calls with staff and member.

This is not an entry level position. Campaign and political experience is required.
