Jennifer Stewart has over a decade of experience in public policy and government relations. An experienced strategist, she offers the clients of Stewart Strategies & Solutions creative and strategic approaches to public policy matters, including but not exclusive to telecommunications, technology, transportation, health care and education.

In her role at Stewart Strategies & Solutions, she assists clients in achieving public policy goals by lobbying on their behalf and crafting strategies to effectively communicate to the audiences they care about- policymakers and their constituents.

Prior to forming Stewart Strategies & Solutions, Stewart’s career highlights include her service as a senior policy advisor at Bryan Cave, LLP. In this role, Stewart serviced several corporations. Prior to Bryan Cave, LLP, she served as senior manager in the federal government affairs department for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals (AZ). In this role she built and strengthened AZ’s relationships with Democratic members of Congress and a range of ally and advocacy groups, including the Congressional Black Caucus, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and the New Democrats. In addition, she helped develop action plans to implement AZ’s federal government affairs objectives, enhanced the company’s reputation and advanced its legislative and external communications agenda. During Stewart’s time at AZ, she provided the company with an opportunity to truly connect with Democratic Members of Congress, their staffs and their constituents.

Stewart’s experience in the government sector includes her tenure as legislative director to Congressman Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY). As legislative director, she served the Congressman, his Washington, D.C. legislative staff, and his congressional district staff. She also oversaw the legislative operations in the office, worked with colleagues of differing political parties and assisted with district events. Stewart also drafted legislation, testimony and appropriation measures, and served as a key point of contact for congressional committees, constituents and advocacy groups. Prior to working for Congressman Meeks, Stewart also served as a legislative assistant to Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX).

Stewart’s experience in strategically and creatively reaching diverse communities, in efforts to build broad support, makes her a valuable asset to the clients of Stewart Strategies & Solutions.

Raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Stewart received a master’s degree in political management from George Washington University in 1999 and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Loyola University of New Orleans in 1997. She is also a Ph.D. candidate at American University.
