Welcome to the CBC Institute 2008 Convention Web Page.
The CBC Institute is proud to be a leading participant in an election year that promises to make history.
We began 2008 by hosting a Presidential Debate in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on January 20, 2008. CNN announced the next day that our debate was the most watched presidential debate in history of cable news.
We are now proud to be hosting events at both the Democratic Convention in Denver, Colorado and the Republican Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
We expect that this will be the first set of conventions that many of you visiting this web site will have ever experienced.
We know some of you will be fortunate to attend one of the conventions.
And most of you will be viewing the speeches and coverage from home and interacting online.
This web page is developed with all of you in mind.
We invite you to use this site as your primary resource as you navigate the conventions. We have offered links to websites to provide you with basic information about both conventions in both cities. We have also highlighted some items of particular interest to African American visitors, including African American tourist attractions and facts about Black elected officials.
Thank you for your interest and participation. Enjoy the conventions and be sure to vote in November.
